Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MoodSpec (“MoodSpec”, “we”, “us”) is an event-production workspace at moodspec.net. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use MoodSpec, why, and what rights you have over it.

2. What we collect

• Account data — name and email address, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk) when you sign up or sign in.
• Project data — everything you enter to plan an event: briefs, budgets, timelines, tasks, mood boards, floor plans, and any reference files you upload.
• Guest list data — if you add guests to a project, we store the names, roles, RSVP status, and any phone numbers, emails, or notes you enter for them. This is your data about your event’s guests, not a separate account for them.
• Billing data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number; we keep only your subscription status and billing history reference.
• Usage data — basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) generated automatically by our hosting provider, used only for security and reliability, not tracking or advertising.

3. How we use AI

When you ask MoodSpec to generate an event plan, mood-board images, or regenerate part of your plan, the relevant brief details and prompts are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to produce the result. We do not send your guest list, payment details, or uploaded reference files’ contents to the AI provider for anything other than the specific generation you request. AI-generated content is a starting point you review and edit — see the disclaimer in our Terms of Service.

4. Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run MoodSpec, each processing data only to the extent needed to provide their service to us:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• OpenAI — AI plan and image generation.
• Supabase — database and file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

5. International transfers

Some of the providers above may process data outside the European Economic Area (including the United States). Where that happens, they do so under recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep data

We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a project, its data is removed from our active database (backups may persist briefly before rotation). If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to retain billing records for legal or tax reasons.

7. Your rights

If you’re in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right under GDPR to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@moodspec.net — we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

8. Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and remember your language and theme preference. We don’t use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children

MoodSpec is intended for professional and personal event planning by adults. It is not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as MoodSpec evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
